Pacify

After the truck that Amir was riding in had "Skidded around yet another turn" (p.229) and caused him to become sick again, the driver suggested that Amir "Try a lemon"(p.229) to pacify his nausea. Amir was reluctant to "Try a lemon" (p.229) because he believed that it would cause more of a problem instead of pacifying it.
